Универзитет у Приштини - Косовска Митровица

After moving from its original seat Pristina, University wasn’t able to use all publications it used to have in its huge library fund. As to enable students to use necessary text-books and other teaching material, University of Pristina established University Library as its organizational unit without legal personality, by the Decision of University Council: No 07-1/8-1 from March 20, 2007.

Beside its basic library activities (purchase, processing, storage and use of library fund), library takes care of development the University unified library system and whole library activities, by creating the great number of integrative functions.

Library has publications of the University and faculties, doctoral dissertations, particular number of textbooks, expert, science and handbook litarature that agree with the content of all study programs that are performed at the University of Pristina.

Significant number of publications is the gift from National Library of Serbia, Company „Novosti“ Russian Federation and other friends of the University.

Library has the resources of 12510 library units and via COBISS it has the access to other library funds in the country and abroad; it has reading rooms, appropriate information system and very professional staff.University library has 700 square meters of used surface. With professional book processing via the COBISS, library starts from March, 2008. Up to now, library staff processed 6702 monograph publications and till the end of the year, it is planned that 20000 library units be inserted.

Library information system is made up of 22 PC’s and is the part of the academic network of Serbia that enable teachers, associates, students and others to have access to the whole content of this network.

University plans to continuously works on enriching library funds by great number of modern publications needed for high-quality teaching process at all study levels.
